The major features of Pakistan
1. One of Pakistan's most recognizable landmarks is Fort Lahore, a citadel in the city of Lahore. Located at the northern end of Lahore's Walled City, it was built around the 11th century. The site is known to have been inhabited for millenia, and its origins are obscure. However, according to Hindus, the fort was built by Loh, son of the Hindu deity Rama.
2. Another major landmark of Pakistan are the Shalimar Gardens, a Mughal garden complex located in Lahore. Its construction began in 1637, during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan, and it was completed in 1641. The gardens were inscribed in 1981 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
3. Faisal Mosque is the mosque in Islamabad. Located at the foothills of Margalla Hills in Islamabad, the building's design is contemporary, consisting of eight sides of concrete shell. The architecture is inspired by a Bedouin tent. The mosque dominates the landscape of Islamabad, as it covers an area of 54,000 square ft.
